Hi, everyone. It’s with great pain that I have to make this post.

On July 24th, 2017, my sweet younger sister Maddy was the victim of a severe domestic violence incident by a professional boxer. It was non-consensual and certainly never wanted. She has been an advocate against domestic violence before the incident even happened, and I admire her for always standing up for women and victims’ rights. Please help Maddy to heal, to help us to have the assailant be accountable, and for full transparency so his violent and reckless actions will be stopped. 

Maddy was on the path to becoming a professional dancer, ready to go out on auditions and was a dance minor in college, but this tragic, senseless, and perverse criminal act for his own satisfaction stopped her love for dancing. She was also an advanced yoga person, and when she showed her orthopedic surgeon one of her prior yoga pictures, he said to her “That’s impressive.” Her whole life was changed in an instant. Even recently, she still has an injured neck as documented by a Spine Specialist. People have said to her, “You look normal,” but she is not okay. His violence destroyed my sister’s jubilant abilities and identity as a dancer, and so forth. Her life has been changed forever.

She stands and smiles to hide her pain, but there are always triggers, memories, sleepless nights, and so much pain. She is professionally diagnosed with PTSD because of this domestic violence incident. It took a long time for my sister to go public, and she needs and appreciates your reblogs, positive words of strength and kindness, and ongoing support. She still does not want her pictures of extreme agony and sadness to be seen by anyone, which is why we have chosen her goodness in her soul to try and help other women as the photo depicts prior to the assault, never expecting that she would be a victim herself.
